The Allman Brother's Band - "Midnight Rider" Soundtrack: The Devil's Rejects

The classic mystique of the Allman Bros. is captured in this song and more importantly when it was manifested to me in the film The Devil's Rejects. With it's rambling feel of freedom and escape the twingy guitars and repeating bassline make this song a whiskey summer favorite.

The Falcon - "The La-Z-Boy 500" Unicornography

This punkrock super group blends gravely harsh vocals, malt liquor and a unique sense of fun to give a perspective about the similarities between living and dying. Members of the Lawerence Arms and Alkaline Trio write lyrics familiar of a modern day punkrock Hemmingway which call you to open your eyes and take your life into your own hands.

Lil Wayne - "Seat Down Low" Tha Drought 3

Weezy at his best. No "Lollipop" club-like influences, both his beat and flow are pressing and relentless. You can hear his pure enjoyment behind the mic, the word-playing is fun to catch onto, he makes words rhyme for him, and his one liners are classic. If you like Lil Wayne, this mix-tape is his quintessential collection of remixes and best work.

Alkaline Trio - "Take Lots With Alcohol" From Here to Infirmary

One of my all time favorite albums from one of my all time favorite bands. Driving guitars, layered over a strong bassline and crashing symbols, plus Matt Skibba asking himself how much he can take? "Just clean my head up doc. I'll give you anything you want." This is the song to play when your head wont leave you alone and they have the answer for you.

Sublime - "Scarlett Begonias" 40oz. To Freedom

A "Summer of Love" song is remade by the 1990's Ska/Reggae legends. Bradley Nowell's voice delivers a more romantic and clearer description of lust for a drug dealing beauty than Jerry Garcia ever did. This song is both fun and romantic at the same time making you excited to dance for the next scarlet begonia beauty you encounter.
