This week I would like to take the Notes from the Editor to, on behalf of the entire Quadrangle staff, congratulate the "Join the Quad" ad for running in its 61th straight week this issue.

Its been a banner year for the "Join the Quad" ad. Earlier this year it defeated its long-time rival, the "Riverdale Garden" ad, after no one went to the Riverdale Garden, despite it being Zagat-rated, and last week it celebrated its 60th anniversary.

The "Join the Quad" ad has suffered a drop in prominence recently since its heyday under the Jon Stone Editorial regime, when it would be run up to three times in each issue. Some of us here at the Quad began to doubt whether or not the "Join the Quad" ad would reach 61 since, as far as we can tell, no one wants to "Be a Reporter" or "Join the Quad." I personally would not recognize the Quadrangle without at least one page occupied by the "Join the Quad" ad.

I know many of you read the Quadrangle and take that ad for granted. Take a minute to appreciate it this week while you sit in LLRN 102: Classical Origins of Western Culture, CIS 201: Introduction to Information Systems or some other core class you do not care too much about, since you are about to start playing Sudoku anyway.
