Heads Up!
"Fresh To Death" Promises Success
On April 17th the first ever "Fresh To Death" party will take place. "Fresh To Death" is the name of the party sponsored by the Commuter Student Association. Plans to have Cypha Sounds, the DJ for the Neptunes, and DJ Precise from the famed Hot 97 Heavy Hitters are underway. All students are invited. Flyers and posters are also being distributed at various universities, this being one of the many factors making this party different from those in the past. "I wanted to make a name for CSA," said Richard Cruz President of the Commuter Student Association. "Parties in the past haven't lived up to the hype," he continued, " but this year we're trying hard to make it different and a hit."
Tickets will be sold at 3 dollars each. Manhattan College students can bring up to 3 guests each. Guest and other people outside of the Manhattan College community will be charged 5 dollars. A dress code will be enforced. "Fresh To Death" is the code to go by. "We ask everyone to dress neat," said Cruz. "That doesn't mean shoes and slacks but hoodies, sweats and jerseys will be frowned upon."
Cheaper Credits Opportunity
Manhattan College credits are estimated to roughly 500 dollars per credit. One class can cost anywhere from 1,500 and up depending on their credit value. What many students are not aware of is that some Core classes can be taken at other universities and those credits if taken within the CUNY system, the City University of New York, can cost less than half the price if taken at Manhattan College. CUNY is a grouping of all the public universities in the city. There are a total of 19 colleges each with its own specialty. These colleges are located all over the New York City area.
The City University of New York offers two sessions for summer courses. The first of these begins June 7 and last until July 7. The second session begins July 12 through August 11. The days classes begin vary by one or two dates depending on the school but what remains constant between the various universities is the price of a credit. The going price for credits within the CUNY system is 170 per credit. That brings down the price by more than half. A class can cost a little over what a credit would go for at Manhattan College.
