Smith Auditorium was filled with many different characters on Friday night for the annual senior night Halloween party,
While the evening stated off slow, by the end of the night, with the help of music and alcohol, the festivities began to pick up and many of the seniors began to enjoy themselves. While some of the seniors came dressed in the typical Halloween costumes, some inventive students came in a number of creative costumes.
Jimmy McDonagh was one of these creative seniors, who came as a toilet. Dressed form head to toe in white, he had a toilet seat attached to his stomach and a roll of toilet paper on his head. "I really don't know how it came to me," said McDonagh, "I just thought of it one day, and I knew it would get some laughs." McDonagh was correct in his statement, because throughout the night many of his fellow classmates took the opportunity to sit on his toilet seat and took pictures with him.
Jim Morris, who came to the event dressed as rapper Flavor Flav, wore another creative costume. Wearing Flav's trademark Viking horns and clock around his neck, Morris said, "he's one of my favorite people right now, because of the new season of The Surreal Life."
Morris was not the only senior to be inspired by a television show or movie. Friends Cari Hourigan and Sarah Hallet dressed up as women baseball players from the movie A League of their Own. Wearing the traditional girl's baseball skirts and tops from the movie, they even printed out the official patch of the baseball league and placed in on the arms. "Sarah came up with the idea, and we thought it would be fun," said Hourigan. Hallet added, "the movie is always on HBO, I just thought it would be a cool costume that no one would have."
Dressing the same as your friends seemed to be a common trend at this year's senior night. Christine Cascio and Lia Kozlak came dressed as McDonald's French fries and milkshake, respectively. "Originally I wanted to be a Christmas tree, but the costume was too much money," said Cascio. She continued to say, "I saw this and I convinced Lia to do it with me." Their friend Laura Arnold was going to be a hamburger with her friends to complete the trio, but arrived at the costume shop too late. Instead, she decided to make her costume and came as a Rubik's cube.
