Twins score identical perfect scores
Long Beach, NY- Fraternal twins Jesse and Dillon Smith scored perfect 1600's on their SAT's this past month. According to the College Board, of the 1.4 million students who took the test only 939 scored perfect 1600's. The two boys, who are seniors at Long Beach High School got 1520 and 1530 on their first attempts, and admittedly didn't study too hard for the test. "I didn't spend, like, weeks and months and years of my life studying for this test," Dillon said. "I took it easy. ... "I happen to be good at taking tests."

Dillon plans on applying to Columbia, New York University, and Cooper Union and majoring in Engineering. Jesse plans on applying to Brown, Boston University, Wesleyan and Bates.

Fans celebrate World Series win
Boston, MA- Within minutes of the final out in Game 4 of the World Series, fans poured into the streets of Boston. The crowds, according to police reports, were much more controlled than after the win against the Yankees. In comparison, only 35 arrests were made in the entire city due to the celebration. Roughly 44 people were injured, 14 of them were serious.

Manager John Henry asked the fans to celebrate respectfully after the game in St. Louis. "We want every fan to take it easy tonight and respect each other, said Henry. He went on to say, "We lost someone -- remember Victoria. Let's be careful in our celebration tonight." As for the riot police who controlled the crowd on Wednesday night, they were issued lower-velocity pepper spray guns than those used the night Victoria was killed.

The official parade for the Red Sox in Boston is set for Saturday afternoon and will travel from Boston College to Government center. The city is taking extra special precautionary measures to assure safety for the expected 5 million spectators.

Campus security may soon carry guns
Sacramento, CA- A vote will soon take place on whether campus patrol in the Sacramento area should be issued hand guns. The Los Rios Community College campuses give their security guards batons, but the school board feels that it may be necessary to carry arms.

Many students who attend the school are very upset by the school's choice to bring this decision to a vote. "We're concerned that the safety of the students could be imperiled if there is an episode where a gun is drawn. There are a lot more students on this campus then there are officers," said student Liane Bruckstein.

Susie Williams, spokesperson for the school district, made a statement this week that went as follows, "While the issue of arming police may be an emotional one for some people, for others, it is something that should be done so campus police officers have the tools to do their job to protect the campus community and themselves." The vote will take place later this week.
