The Manhattan College Golf Team has finished its 2004 fall season. The team had a decent season. They placed good in most of the events they participated at. The team was placed number four in the fall season finale.

The team participated at six different events this fall. The Jaspers started their 2004 season in great shape; they finished first in the Manhattan College Invitational in Riverhead, New York on Sept. 10. They placed second against St Peter's in West Orange, New Jersey on Sept. 21. The team finished sixth in the Susquehanna College Fall Invitational in Drums, Pennsylvania that took place on Sept. 24. The team finished off in fourth place against St. Peter's in West Orange, New Jersey on Oct. 7. The team then went on to lose its first event of the season when they participated against Boston University 322-351 in Brookline, Massachusetts on Oct. 8. After that loss, the Jaspers played hard and defeated Yeshiva 330-374 in Port Washington, New York on Oct. 12. Finally, in their last event of the fall season the Manhattan Jaspers finished fourth in the event called the East Stroudsburg Invitational in Shawnee-on-Delaware, Pennsylvania which took place on Oct. 15.

Winning their first event, the Manhattan Invitational was good for the Jaspers. They continued to build on from that event and performed well in the other events. However, the Jaspers will look forward to playing even better in their spring season which begins on April 2, 2005. Coach Olsewski is currently in his fourth full season as coach of the Jaspers golf team. Olsewski commented on the team's performance in the season, he said that "The Fall season was okay. We can play much better. We did play fairly well in most of our dual matches and two tournaments at Susquehanna University in Sept. and at East Stroudsburg University in mid-October."

Tim Hand, senior and co-captain of the team, feels that the team has improved since last year. "Freshman Scott Burton (who comes from La Jolla, California) really helped the team out. Being co-captain motivated me more to play better while representing Manhattan College. Being co-captain is more motivational, I have to set an example for the other players." Hand along with co-captain, Danny Sirico, try to motivate the team to do better since they will be graduating in the spring. They have been teaching the team to compete together and always play with confidence. Overall they want the players to represent the school in the best way possible.

This year's team has twelve golfers. Out of those twelve, five are freshmen. The freshmen are Scott Burton from La Jolla, CA, Thomas Camisa from Eastchester, NY, Kevin Judge from Belle Harbor, NY, Sean Oroho from Franklin, NJ, and Chris Vieau from Jamesville, NY. These freshmen have had their first experience in a collegiate sport. For next season they will use this season's experience more effectively and help the team tremendously. The sophomores of the team are Corey Barringer and George Calvi. There are two juniors on the team Mike Goll and Mike Judge; and three seniors Tim Hand, Patrick Rizzotti, and Danny Sirico.

Their spring season will begin on April 2 and 3 in the McDaniel College Spring Opener in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The Jaspers will play four more times until the season ends in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships in Lake Buena Vista, Florida from April 22-24.
