Their tracks consist of unique lyrics that will get inside of your head, and with the different and uplifting sound of the lead singer Brandon Flowers' voice, one is bound to get hooked to the CD. When I first put the album in my CD player I played the whole thing through and enjoyed every minute of it.
The first five songs on the CD including there recent singles "Mr. Brightside", which is currently climbing on the rock charts and has hit number one on some, and their very first single "Somebody Told Me" are the strongest tracks on the album and are definitely killer. Along with unique and genuine lyrics, The Killers are not afraid to add a little humor into their music; such as the catchphrase in their first single that says "Somebody told me you had a boyfriend who looks like the girlfriend that I had in February of last year..."
If you have not heard this track yet, you are bound to hear it on any mainstream radio station along with any punk/rock stations. The Killers have been called the Duran, Duran of this century and also have been compared to the other fairly new rock groups; such as, The Strokes and Franz Ferdinand. Hot Fuss's tracks vary from more pop songs to rock songs to punk and even one or two slow songs. The album even consists of a few dance tunes inspired with synthesizers and a bit of disco rhythm. It is a good CD to buy if you are interested in any of these genres of music.
The quartet consists of vocalist Brandon Flowers, guitarist David Keunings, bassist Mark Stoermer, and drummer Ronnie Vannucci. Together, they are able to put together a great album that combines all of the rock/pop music people loved in the 80's with the mainstream music that is popular today. It is clear from the beginning of the album to the end that The Killers are serious about their music and are planning to stick around for quite some time. Recently performing on Saturday Night Live and appearing on MTV's breakout stars week, it is obvious that their plan to conquer the United States is slowly coming in to reality. In conclusion, these four rockers make up a great band along with a great debut album, "Hot Fuss". The Killers bring positivism and uniqueness into the rock world that has been needed for quite a while. They have a great sex appeal that is bound to attract many new listeners and open up rock music to new people.
