While the Draddy parking lot may not have been totally clear, many of the faculty members were pleased in the state of some of the other lots. Although some parts in these lots were slippery, the Manhattan College staff cleared as much snow as possible, and salted the area well.
Despite the fact that many of the student lots were not plowed properly, students were content with the state of the pathways around campus. Freshman, Communications major Candace Itjen said, " they did a pretty good job of clearing up the campus. For the most part, it was pretty easy to walk around from class to class." Saladino agreed, " everything on the main campus was well taken care of by Monday."
Students and faculty hope that the Manhattan College staff will continue to clear the main campus as well as they did. Students, like Carr hope that when the next big snow storm arrives that they will clear these pathways again. She said, "When I was a freshman we had two days off from classes. I don't want that to happen again, because it's not only hard to make up for the teachers, but also for the students."
Although it is not known when another big snowstorm will hit the college, students and faculty are optimistic that the grounds will be taken care of. Hopefully Manhattan will be prepared for the next snowstorm that will come our way, salting and shoveling both the areas that were clear on the 23rd, and the areas that weren't.
