Well, Nice Lucy would be that old fashioned prototype of the 1950's gal who always wears her ankle-length skirt, wears her hair in that cute little bonnet, and is generally untouchable. In direct contrast, Sexy Sally on the other hand is an entirely different story. For example, she is the voluptuous & hot-blooded (and don't forget sexy!) woman who is willing to passionately execute intercourse with Joe Cool. However, let's not forget that she is a feminist and so-called liberated woman and thereby ensues that he uses a rubber to ensure protection-(Note: the condom has been proven to be scientifically ineffective to sexually-transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies).
However, must society continue, time and time again, to box women into this 2-dimensional image: namely, Nice Lucy vs. Sexy Sally? In other words, why can't the ideal standard of a woman be somewhere in the middle? In fact, I would like to add a third alternative to this female spectrum in what I like to call Sexy Lucy, who would essentially be the best of both worlds. For example, Sexy Lucy on one hand would have the spontaneity, energy, fire, and sex-appeal that Sexy Sally embodies, but, on the other hand, when you look into her eyes and smile, she would-to borrow the words of Pastor Raeside-have that "sweet and adorable gentle spirit" that the proverbial Nice Lucy embodies.
Like Sexy Sally, she would be an extrovert who knows how to spice up a party and be voluptuous, yet she knows where to the draw-the-line and not fall for a man's I love you. In other words, she is a feminist who will not compromise herself by submitting to a man's passions by giving him some. In that regard, she is like Nice Lucy but with a slight difference. For example, when Joe Cool lays his tired I love you line on her, she responds with that old fashioned motto: It's against my religious principles. However, my friend Sexy Lucy would respond more subtly and with spice: You love me? May I have that writing-(i.e. marital certificate)-please?
In essence, this Sexy Lucy character in comparison to women in today's society would be a rare find in comparison to the Gospel's analogy that "the Kingdom of Heaven is like finding a treasure chest in the middle of the [Sahara] desert". Though common-sense should dictate that this Sexy Lucy on the spectrum of the female gender should be the ideal standard of which a man should look for in a good woman, she is regarded as the black sheep of womanhood.
Sexy Lucy is caught between religious morals and her peer's judgment. On one hand, she is simply dismissed as a slut by religious fundamentalists because she knows how to walk, dress, and carry herself voluptuously, make-out, and just have fun. On the other hand, she is castigated by her fellow peers as uptight and stuck-up because she refuses to cross-the-line by compromising her womanly integrity by giving him some. In fact, this is evident by the very fact that the legendary Angela Basset and Pop-princess Jessica Simpson are just a few of the female celebrities in our society that have ascribed to this rare-yet-noble standard of womanly virtue. On the contrary, instead of this Sexy Lucy character of women being branded as the black sheep of womanhood, she should be the ideal standard for a good woman like that of the Blessed Mother. Wouldn't you agree?
