10. As we all know, The Red Sox had their fair share of bad luck, most believe the reason being the "Curse of the Bambino"-Babe Ruth was traded from Bean-town to the Bronx. The Sox were "cursed" for 86 years before they were able to win another championship. Trading away a baseball hall-of-famer is worthy of foolish moment number ten.

9. Italians are certainly famous for their magnificent architecture. However, one of their most famous "accomplishments" is the Leaning Tower of Pisa. This structure is obviously tilted to one side and has become one of the most well known buildings in Italy. The fault of the Tower can be credited to the original architect Bonanno Pisano. It was his predecessors who later realized that the Leaning Tower of Pisa could never be straightened.

8. The "Heidi-bowl" of 1968 is definitely one of the most memorable championships of the century. The New York Jets were playing the Oakland Raiders with a mere fifty seconds remaining in the game, as the hour was coming to a close. The Jets were winning with a score of 39-32, when NBC changed its programming from football to the movie Heidi. With the time left on the clock, Oakland scored two touchdowns and won the game with a score of 43-32. Unfortunately, it was only witnessed by those at the stadium.

7. In 1978, before there were Air-Jordans, and "I wanna be like Mike" slogans, Michael Jordan was a sophomore trying out for his high school basketball team in Wilmington, North Carolina. Just as Einstein failed math, Jordan was cut from the varsity basketball team in the 10th grade. He later tried out again in the following years, leading the team to the state championship.

6. After the French suppressed the Haitian rebellion in 1802, many soldiers were killed and had to leave the island of Hispanola. Napolean Bonaparte realized that without the island, Louisiana would be ultimately useless to the French. Because of limited funds for his state, he offered to sell the Louisiana Territory to the United States. The territory approximately doubled the size of the United States for a mere 15 million dollars.

5. It seems as though it is the kiss of death to make a movie with your significant other, no matter how good of an idea it seems. It appears that shortly after the release, the couple tends to split as was the case with many actors such as Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman in Eyes Wide Shut. The case is no different for Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck and 2003's Gigli . Who would have thought that box office disaster would be the final nail in the coffin for Bennifer.

4. It is utterly amazing what celebrities think they can do. Some donate their money to charities and others spoil themselves on luxurious cars and mansions. Some celebrities, however, think they are capable of becoming a trained astronaut and qualified for space travel. Lance Bass, member of N'Sync, thought it was possible, but perhaps he was just having just another blonde moment.

3. Paul McCartney took Michael Jackson under his wing and advised that he invest in the song copyrights. After this discussion, Jackson decided to buy all the rights to the Lennon/ McCartney Beatles songs leaving McCartney furious about his new investments. Needless to say McCartney does not love Jackson, yea yea yea...

2. No New Yorker likes the John Rocker, former closer for the Atlanta Braves-its official. It might be the fact that he insulted the entire city. He later apologized for insulting comments about immigrants, single mothers and homosexuals, mainly about the New York's diversity. Needless to say, he messed with the wrong city. Foolish moment number two.

1. Before the Beatles as we know it become to major geniuses they are today, they had a different drummer. Pete Best, later replaced by Ringo Starr, decided it was not in his best interest to stay with the band. He left The Beatles before they became the musical influence they are today.
